The Lady Red Tennis Team traveled to Bonner Springs for the Bill Scott Invitational on Thursday. The team was lead once again by Junior Reece Dulac who went 3-1 on the day taking 3rd place overall. The tournament format was pool play and then the top two in each pool had cross-over match to determine the top four places in each division. Reece went 2-1 in pool play losing only to Sophia Bowman of Bonner Springs 6-8. Dulac overcame a 2-5 deficient to tie the match at 6-6 but just could not win the big points to secure a comeback win. Reece played Kimberly Arroyo from Sumner in the third-place match. She regained her form and won 8-1 for third place. In the last two tournaments Reece has amassed a 7-2 record playing some of her best tennis for the year. Delores Brant went 0-3, but had some great matches. She lost to Hadley Russell form Topeka Highland Park in a tie 7-8(5-7). Brant played well in her matches but just couldn't put together winning points in a row. The doubles team of Katie Hampton and Matilde Nava went 1-2 on the day, but their win was enough to secure a team standing of 6th place for the tournament. The team now gets ready for regionals which is Saturday hosted by Bishop Miege at Harmon Park in Prairie Village.
